Our Daily Bread

SCRIPTURE

Give us this day our daily bread.
Matthew 6:11

"Do not worry then, saying, "What will we eat?' or "What will we drink?' or "What will we wear for clothing?' For the Gentiles eagerly seek all these things; for your heavenly Father knows that you need all these things. But seek first His kingdom and His righteousness, and all these things will be added to you. So do not worry about tomorrow; for tomorrow will care for itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own.
Matthew 6:31-32 (NASB)

PRAYER

Lord, (__________)’s concerns about meeting daily needs can be utterly overwhelming at times. Our culture has created a web of regular financial obligations that clutters the simple principles of your desire to provide for us. I ask today that you would flood (__________)’s heart with a calm sense of your faithfulness. Move him to ask you for today’s provision, and allow tomorrow to care for itself. I ask that you would replace worry with a passionate pursuit of fully following you, his king. Make him to be occupied with his moment by moment decisions to own and live your righteousness. I ask in passion and power that you would indeed give him this day his daily bread, Lord. Amen.

ENCOURAGEMENT

You Father in heaven knows what you need. He will care for you. Relax, and just keep seeking him.
